由北京师范大学环境学院、中国科学院地理科学与资源研究所、蒙特利尔魁北克大学、北京大学和南京大学联合主办的 The 18th Biennial ISEM Conference- Ecological Modelling for Global Change and Coupled Human and Natural Systems，于2011年9月20-23日在北京成功举办。来自世界各地400余人参加了会议。大会主题为全球变化及人类与自然耦合系统生态模拟。大会组委会主席由杨志峰教授、彭长辉教授、岳天祥研究员和江洪教授联合担任，并邀请“Environmental Pollution“杂志主编William J. Manning，“Ecological Modelling”杂志主编Brian D. Fath，”Ecological Informatics“杂志主编Friedrich Recknagel，“Ecological Complexity”杂志主编Larry Li，“Ecological Indicators”杂志常务副主编Sven E. Jørgensen等多位生态与环境研究领域国际著名学者作特邀报告。
